Last night, two pairs of neighbors came over. The younger pair brought their little one along, for what ended up being more than six hours. He was pretty quiet, sleeping most of the time, interrupted by two feedings and one diaper change. They called him, “Mr. Delicious” and he was beautiful.

It’s been a while since I admired and held a two-month-old baby, especially with my own children on the cusp of 21 and 30. Gave me a good opportunity for a dry-run, test-drive of my not-too-distant-future grandparenting skills.
