Droplets Left Behind

The spring rain, when it falls undisturbed by wind in the stillness of morning before dawn, leaves behind jewel-like droplets on the smooth surfaces of new leaves and flower petals.

The heavy, falling rain will bend the slender leaves of a purple iris from their vertical orientation to horizontal, so they can receive the rain and form beaded droplets after the storm passes.
