#tbt / The late, great George Murray

May 19th is the birth anniversary of my father, George Murray. He lived 1928-2010 and would have been 94 years old if he was alive today. I’ve lost other dear family members over the past two decades, but can’t seem to recall most of their dates-of-birth. I guess the reason I remember my dad’s is because — for my entire life, obviously — it’s always been exactly one month prior to mine on June 19th. Oh, and it helps that I still get calendar reminders for dad’s birthday on my mobile phone, like a ghost in the machine. Anyway, I still miss him a lot.
