We went to our favorite cheese shop on Christmas Eve and met a cheerful elf wearing a wonderful hat.
The “Cheese Elf” was a young woman working at the cheese shop who knew us. When we saw her Christmas hat, I asked her to pose for an instant photograph, and she agreed with a smile. My vintage Polaroid Big Shot camera was loaded with color, instant pack-film, and shot #4 (out of 10) was ready to go…
As you can see, the Cheese Elf gave us a big, beaming smile to go with her festive hat!

Location: Plum Plums Cheese Shop, New Canaan, Connecticut
Once the instant photo was scanned, I had some fun making digital edits to it, ultimately “baking” it 6-8 times using the Hipstamatic app on iPhone. The resulting digital image is what I call a “Hipstaroid” derived from Hipstamatic+Polaroid, even though it was Fuji film in this case. Check out my page for Hipstaroids here and enjoy these examples:

See you tomorrow!
