Lomo Mono 110 Party Portraits

After shooting in color at the Cameras And Films Barcelona “Grand Re-Opening Event” on November 7th 2024, I switched over to black-and-white or blanco y negro as they would say in Spain. Or blanc i negre in Catalan… As I said in my color post from the event, I wanted to shoot with the oddest camera in the shop, purely as a conversation-starter, and I succeeded. 🙂

My camera of choice for the evening was a Minolta 110 Zoom SLR “Mark I” (original 1976 version) with a basic flash, loaded with Lomography Orca ASA 100 b&w 110 cartridge film. As you can see below, the results were very good despite the small 110 film negative size, but also more grainy then expected, despite the 100 ASA film speed. Also a little blown out from the flash, so it seemed the TTL exposure settings preferred the 200 ASA film…

Much love and appreciation to my partners, collaborators, and many new friends made during that evening at Cameras And Films in Barcelona! And of course, many thanks to Moritz Barcelona for the thirst-quenching refreshments at the event… ❤
