Walking by on a cloudy day, I was struck by the colors of her clothing more than the sign she carried. It seemed as if the almost fluorescent reds/pinks of her hoodie, construction vest, and sticker-covered hardhat had been carefully chosen to complement the bright orange SLOW sign she wielded and waved at passing vehicles, but instead they upstaged it. Together, they were photo-worthy.

When I said I appreciated her outfit-ensemble and asked permission to take a photo, she agreed, posed, and positioned the sign for maximum effect. I’m pretty sure she smiled under that mask — she was great!
