Today was a cool spring day in Brooklyn with loved ones and two film cameras.

Most of my shooting — 25 exposures out of 36 — was on a Nikon F2 35mm SLR and 20mm wide-angle lens, loaded with expired Lucky Super 100 film. I’ll post some of those shots after I finish the roll. My other film camera was a Polaroid 680 SE SLR, in the SX-70 Sonar family but designed to shoot the less light-thirsty 600 instant films.

I had the 680 SE loaded with my first pack of the new Blue 600 Film – Reclaimed Edition, which is produced using materials left over from the regular 600 film manufacturing process. Results from the Blue 600 instant film emulsion are (as you would expect from the name) monochromatic blue tones. The blues are high-contrast and dramatic, evoking old-school cyanotype colors and tones.

Waiting for our brunch table at Nura in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, I pulled the 680 SE out of my camera bag and captured one, great, Blue 600 portrait of my stepchild and their partner.
